Ashley and Luke's Wedding
This year started with a treat. This wedding was for one of my friends, Ashley, who is a wonderful woman, photographer, and scientist with a beautiful heart. I was glade when she reached out for her sisters wedding back in 2015. Now it is time for her wedding.
I knew this wedding as going to be great because of how wonderful Ashley’s family is working with them previously. And because of her soon to be husband Luke as known in the DJ industry as Laidback Luke.
The location of the reception was beautiful downtown San Antonio, Texas. On a rooftop at Artpace. It was our first time there but my lighting assistant and I had about 2-3 hr between ceremony and reception so we could do a location assessment.
Once Ashley and Luke got to the venue we headed up to the top and went into couples photos. We captured everything in record time because we didn’t have to pose them too much. They already had the expressions we needed for the shots! In fact one of the images was on first take.
The reception was fun. Their first dance was something I’ve never seen before. They did a Kung Fu dance , different but great. The night ended with Luke djaying at his own wedding. Now that was a treat. If you haven’t seen him live I would highly recommend it.

If I had to describe Ashley and Luke I would say, they are probably the most humble and modest people I’ve met. I guess we can see how Luke got his name djay name.
