Why you should buy prints from your photographer

Now a days we are posting photos from cell phones to our favorite social media platform getting likes and comments seeing what others think.

Remember when you went over to your grandparents house and you saw your parents photos and albums and saw how they looked when they were your age. Thats because then that how people shared their moments back then. With their photos being printed, framed and put between book covers.

Why print photos

Photos are tangible products, you can hold them, pass them around or hang it up on your wall. There have been events for me in my life that I would print and show my friends instead of just posting. Right now I bet you are probably thinking of a few events you would like share and hang around your house. Events like your wedding, graduation, your trips, that one time with your family and friends. Photos brings a house and room to life.

Quality

You choose your photographer because you know they are going to get great images the images you want them to capture. The same with your printed photos. All professionals have calibrated monitors/displays, printers, cameras to give the best images for you and your home. Why not trust them with your prints. Your photographer as could offer something that your local grocery store can’t offer for example large prints.

Longevity

When you do see your parents photos you have probably seen the yellow/faded/ corner rolling up. That isn’t just due to bad archiving. Its also the paper quality. Paper quality and longevity has changed since then. Photographers have paper that will last 100+ years. Wouldn’t it be awesome for your great great grand kids to see your photos just has clear as you saw it for the first time? Next time you go into your local store to print ask what is lifespan of there paper and see what they say.

Theres so many different types of paper out there now. If you went to a museum and look at the information card next to one of the photo they showcase you’ll see the type of paper they used to print the photo on. If you go to your photographer they’ll have a demo of all they different papers they offer like matte, glossy, luster, rag, canvas, and those are just the basics. Most of them also have sub textures from the main textures.

You don’t just have paper you can print your photos on almost any surface, glass, metal, even wood! Just ask what you are looking for.

And its not just materials but how big you want your photos! You can get anything from a wallet to as big as an 85inch TV if not bigger. Wanted a billboard size? Your photographer has a way of getting that to you as well.

What about the arrangement of photos you want. Like the family portraits you have. Maybe there is photo that you love but also four other great photos as well. Then have the photo you love in the middle and the others to the side of it in a smaller size.

Supporting small business

By going to your photographer and ordering prints, you are also supporting small/local business. A business that will grow within your community and city. When a small business grows that means they will be looking for people in your area for employees. Who knows you, could be a photographer or an editor later in life. And it all started with you ordering from your photographer.

Just having a print of one of your photos will make you look at your photo differently because you’ll have in your hand. Not your computer, or phone, you know the thing that will notify you of anything and distract you from the moment you were looking at. Print that moment, hang it up and look at everyday when you wake up in the morning reminding you of great memories you have in life.
